Visit to CEGO, Custom Shirt Maker in New York

Posted on March 25, 2013 by Kai D. Fan

I spent an afternoon with Carl Goldberg from CEGO, a custom shirt maker in New York over for 25 years.  CEGO's shirts appear in many leading Broadway productions, network television shows, as well as being worn by many stylish New Yorkers.  I have tried on the different fit blocks and am very impressed with the fit (I am known to be extremely critical in terms of the fit).  The shirts are slim in the all the right places and yet not restrictive for movement (a very important aspect for my active lifestyle).  The shirts are all made in USA.  Carl's team has been making shirts for decades.  I was also presented with a wide selection of fabrics from all over the world.  Carl is an avid collector of vintage fabrics and trims as well from e-Bay and other vintage suppliers.  I have decided to develop a range of dress shirts for Kai D. to be launched for Spring 2014 and very excited to work with Carl and tap into his expertise in custom made shirts.
